We live in a world that normalizes household toxins, insecticides, over-vaccination, synthetic chemicals, and reactive medicine that often leads to chronic health issues.
Our dogs are up against the many unavoidable symptoms of suppression – the least we can do is advocate for vitality through natural, real foods.
Canine husbandry encompasses a vast spectrum of knowledge, yet the most logical starting point for health and longevity is the very fuel that sustains life. A mentor once asked a simple question: “How often do you hear stories of wolves or coyotes raiding farms to steal grains or legumes?”
The answer is clear, yet kibble is built upon those very foundations, carbohydrates. Mairi rejects mainstream conventions relying instead on ancestral logic, observations and biological science.
By selecting a variety of high-quality whole foods, she can fill the dietary gaps that modern commercial marketing has often obscured. The results are not merely from her own observations; they are confirmed by veterinary professionals who handle and oversee medical care for her personal dogs.

Giant breeds occupy a unique space. Working dogs, once indispensable for their utility, these impressive animals now serve primarily as companions in modern society. Viewed as slow-moving fixtures rather than the capable canine athletes they are.
There is a common misconception that they require little more than a large sofa and a short walk. However, a dog forced to live almost entirely in a resting state suffers a decline that mirrors the sedentary human lifestyle - failure of physical, mental, and physiological health. Mairi challenges modern-day breed stereotype by prioritizing functional movement and consistent exercise.
The cornerstone of her philosophy is the implementation of simple physical activity, designed to improve strength, stamina and mobility. The program factors in the essentials of nutrition, handling, and maintaining a simple and effective approach to basic conditioning.

Participants are taught leadership, consistency and follow through. Mairi shows overwhelmed handlers a clear, simplified approach that builds confidence and establishes the owner as a calm, dependable leader.
Mairi respects a dog’s natural intelligence and trains accordingly. Instead of human-centric “pampering,” the focus is on clear expectations, fair boundaries, and responsibility. When dogs understand the rules they become steadier, more confident, and easier to live with.
The curriculum focuses on verbal and physical reinforcement (praise) rather than a treat-dependent system. Her goal is to help owners develop attentiveness and character on and off property. The objective is to have obedience hold under distraction - not just in a controlled environment. Food can still be a useful tool for specific task learning, situational training, and on-site rescue work, but it is not the foundation of the program.
